Week 26 of 2025. It’s July and we’re halfway through this year already. Time, what a thing.
I’ve been in my mind again about affirmations. There was a season back in Colorado that I was doing daily affirmations, writing them out each morning. I’ve been reminded many times since then how they are super important and can literally change everything. I’ve had mantras, kept journals and seen, although at times an incremental feeling, true change.
This summer is heating up and last week I was very aware of my need of affirmations again, more consistently. Rather than try to shoot for a time each morning to sit and write out a page or two of whatever flows, which I love doing when I can, I chose a few and hold them near in my heart and mind. Repeating them whenever I feel overwhelmed, scared, frustrated, or low on energy. I came up with six that felt powerful, all encompassing and generally what would help me. I shared with my husband and he added a seventh, a very powerful needed affirmation.
I thought I’d share them here in case anyone else needs to hold on to any or all for themselves too.
I’ve been doing breathing moments, box breathing which is four in, hold for four, four out, hold for four… repeat. A slower aware kind of breathing pattern, controlled and consistent for 10 or so breaths, sometimes a lot more, sometimes less. I’ll say the affirmations one at a time per count of four. It’s really a nice meditative time I’ve been having with myself.
Summer of 2025 I am affirming:
I am grounded.
I am relaxed.
I am calm.
I am confident.
I am worthy.
I am healthy.
I am loved.
